Christel Liebenberg is a visual artist living and working in Cape Town, South Africa. She completed a bachelor in visual arts (BVA) in 2017 and a Master in visual arts (MVA), with distinction, in 2024.

Her creative practice stems from a broad interest in the relationship between people and their environments; how they attach meaning to spaces and places and how these meanings shape their interactions with the environments in which they live. 

As a visual artist, she draws inspiration from fellow creatives and thrives on collaborative projects that broaden her artistic horizons. She employs a wide range of techniques and processes in her practice, with a particular focus on the experimental use of time-based media. Place and memory are
recurring themes in her work, often explored through the interplay between physical and digital spaces.
